Golfing Rules: Q & A
Ball Comes To Rest in a Divot Hole
Situation – Is a player entitled to relief if his ball lands in a divot on the fairway?
Solution – No, a player must play his ball as he finds it. There is No rule that allows relief for a player who’s ball comes to rest in a divot.
A Player is entitled to replace a divot if his ball comes to rest just in front of it. However, the player may not press down the replaced divot as that would improve his area of intended swing.
