Mulligan Matchplay 2011
The final two have now been confirmed for the 2011 Mulligan Matchplay.
It started back in May and many great matches have been played with lots of new friendships formed along the way. Plenty of the matches went down the 18th which is a good sign of some fine competitive play and good match-ups.
This years final will see Ger Cullen Versus Ondrej Steiranka.
Ger Cullen reaches the final for the second time in three years. He was the first ever winner of the Matchplay Trophy and on route to reaching this years final has beaten many favorites including the 2010 Champion. Known for his steady head on the course, he’ll be unlikely to give away much to his opponent.
His opponent is no puch over as Ondrej ‘The Giant’ is proving to be quite the under dog. Having only takin up the game of golf this year he has shown many that part of his r’epertoire is a raking long drive. But you can’t get to the final of the Matchplay without having good touch around the greens which Ondrej has. A calm head and a risk reward strategy could be what’s needed to get him over the line.
This Final promises to be a real ‘Hum Dinger’. Lets hope as many members can make it out for the closing stages of the round.
