Lady Captain’s Welcome for 2011
As we enter a new golfing year I extend a warm welcome to all members and visitors to Ballinastoe Golf Club. I encourage members to bring friends and colleagues to enjoy a real golfing day out on our beautiful course.
Last year our Ladies Club was established and I am happy to report that we had a very active year of golf including our first weekend trip away to Seafield Golf & Spa Hotel in Wexford organised by our energetic social committee.
The good news is that we are now in the final stages of obtaining the Ladies GUI Membership and all our members should be receiving their official handicaps within the next few weeks. We hope to progress further and increase the number of competitions during 2011 and also to be more involved in organising a greater number of scrambles and competitions with the Men’s section of the Club.
I encourage anybody thinking of starting to play to join us any Sunday at 12.30pm and we would be happy to welcome you to the Club. Our new schedule of Events for 2011 will be posted to the website shortly.
On behalf of all the Lady Members I sincerely thank both Fergal and Anthony Mulligan for all the hard work they do to ensure the course is always in such good condition. It was great to see so many out over the New Year enjoying their golf.
